At Kerouzéré Castle in Sibiril (Northern Finistère), art history comes to life. With the exhibition ‘Picasso – Intertwined Destinies’, visitors are invited to step into the rich and vibrant world of one of the 20th century’s greatest artists: Pablo Picasso. Here, the exhibition sheds light on a little-known aspect of Pablo Picasso: his penchant for experimentation beyond painting. It explores his work in graphic arts, photography, ceramics and illustration, revealing an artist with a thirst for innovation and formal freedom.

Painter, printmaker, illustrator, photographer, ceramicist… Picasso never ceased to explore new artistic frontiers. True to his famous motto — learning by doing what he did not yet know how to do — he turned every technique into a field of experimentation. Engraving, lithography, linocut, ceramics or photography: so many forms of expression that he mastered with extraordinary freedom.

Picasso is not alone. The exhibition reveals the ‘intertwined destinies’, encounters, influences and artistic dialogues that shaped his work and that of his contemporaries. Other major figures of the avant-garde revolve around Picasso: Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí and the photographer Dora Maar. Amidst fascination, rivalry, friendship and mutual influences, their paths cross in the vibrant Paris of the avant-garde years. Together, they help to redefine the boundaries of modern art.

The exhibition features nearly 30 original ceramic works and also sheds light on a little-known aspect of Picasso’s life: his immersion in the world of ceramics in Vallauris, particularly at the Madoura studio, where he collaborated with craftsmen to create works of remarkable formal audacity — sculpted faces, owls, plates and jugs all becoming canvases for his creativity.

More than just an exhibition, ‘Picasso – Crossed Paths’ is an exploration of an artistic constellation where creative genius, friendships, passions and clashes intertwine. Through works of art, documents and exchanges between artists, it reveals how major artistic revolutions often arise from unexpected encounters.

At Kerouzéré Castle, visitors discover an unexpected side to Picasso: curious, daring, insatiable — an artist for whom every work was a new adventure.
